About Us

Seal Sports was founded in 2000
by Garrett Schwing, a former Navy SEAL. He assembled an experienced team to help him fulfill a vision of forming the finest dive center in the region. On this team included, Rob Kohl, who assisted with this fulfillment and whom later acquired the business in 2004. Rob’s experience includes having been a part of a family owned dive center, Kohl’s Dive Shop, during his childhood through today; totaling over 33 years of complete submersion in all ranges of diving. From a Grade One Commercial Diver, having completed saturation bell dives to depths down to 720’ to a PADI Master Instructor, Rob’s and his surrounding team’s experience has been the foundation for which Seal Sports has grown on.

Seal Sports has since expanded to offer retail sales and service for aquatic sports that include Scuba Diving, Paddlesports and Swim. Providing the area’s largest selection of inventory of dive gear; kayaks; paddleboards; swim gear; apparel; accessories and more. In addition, Seal Sports is home of the area’s most up-to-date rental department that rents dive gear, kayaks and paddleboards. They have the expertise to assist you with making a well-informed purchasing decision and provide top notch service before, during and after the sale.

Seal Sports is a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center
that provides a high level of quality scuba related services. These services include scuba instruction, dive gear sales and rental, service and repair, dive travel and charters. Offering scuba instruction from beginner levels all the way through your highest desired Instructor rating. Seal Sports was the area’s first PADI National Geographic Dive Center and also the area’s first PADI Tec Rec Center. You’ll find it difficult to find a scuba certification not offered by Seal Sports.

We could go on about the quality of their showroom and the products that they select to put in it. We could inform you of the high quality characteristics of their staff. We could tell you about all the high end test equipment and tools and the things they’ve done to create the area’s finest service department. We could tell you about their fill station and how they incorporated some of the newest technologies that allows for them to fill cylinders with any percentage of nitrox, oxygen and trimix that may be needed. We could tell you about the size of their training facility and its high definition audio and video equipment, but, rather than take up four of five more paragraphs, we invite you to come visit them and see for yourself.
